Export controls
The US Government has enacted export control laws to govern the transfer of certain information, items, or technologies to foreign countries, foreign persons, and certain countries with which the US is participating in foreign boycotts. This set of federal regulations is in place for reasons of national security, trade protections, foreign policy, or due to international agreements. VCU is committed to supporting the research activities of our faculty, staff and students and provides resources and information to ensure compliance with federal laws and regulations through the Office of Research and Innovation.
Export Control regulations may be applicable in the following situations: international shipping; international travel; and interactions with international students, post-docs, scholars, and visitors.
